Losing your password to any online profile can be annoying. But Steam logs achievements, player data, hours, and purchased games. Losing access to your account would be a disaster. Find out how to change and reset your Steam password and you’ll never be locked out.

If you already know your password, you may still need to change it for a variety of reasons. We often use the same passwords on multiple platforms, so if one is compromised, the hack can spread.

  2. Go to Security tab and click Change Password.
