Frequently asked questions
If a device is stolen, the NordPass vault remains secure. That’s because all your data is encrypted locally, and the Master Password is never stored on Nord Security's servers, ensuring strong password security. Anyone who gets hold of the device could only access the vault if the app had already been unlocked with the Master Password. Without that password, the vault remains completely locked and unreadable.
In addition, the Session Management feature allows administrators to end active NordPass sessions on all or specific devices. This ensures that, even if a device is stolen, no one can access the vault, because the user will need to complete the full login process.
When using NordPass in Offline Mode, the data stored locally on the device includes the items stored in your NordPass vault, such as your passwords, secure notes, and other sensitive information. All items are encrypted on the device, which means they cannot be accessed without the Master Password. Because of that, NordPass offers the best way to store passwords offline.
Offline Mode is currently available for business users on NordPass Business, Teams, or Enterprise plans. Administrators can enable it for their organization members in the Admin Panel. The feature is also available for personal users on Premium and Family plans.
