Quality assurance (QA) is an integral part of NordPass. Our QA team works hard on identifying errors and flaws in the code and design all throughout the development phase to ensure that you – our users – can enjoy a smooth password management experience with NordPass. However, our QA team might not be the biggest fans of this formal definition of what they do. Today, you get to meet them and learn what they're all about. So without further ado, here's Agnė, Arnoldas, Murlee, Algirdas, and Kornelijus – the NordPass QA team.

What challenges does the QA guild face that separate it from the rest of the NordPass teams?
Agnė Peluritytė
Personally, I believe that the only major thing that separates the QA guild from every other team is the mentality that we should maintain in our day-to-day work. Similarly to other teams and guilds, we strive for a slick-looking functional product that helps to solve the end users' problems. But additionally, we constantly have to look for ways to 'break the product,' think outside the box, and find possible issues before they have a chance to ever reach the user.
Arnoldas Jegorovas
Testers (QA) are like the headlights of a car. The analogy is that our role is to illuminate what is unknown. We do not control the system. Instead, we provide input for others to act. We are not the driver (product owner), but what our work uncovers surely influences the driver. Testers attempt to forecast multiple scenarios that might hurt the team so that it can prepare in advance and reduce risks.
Algirdas Jundulas
We are the only team who wants to break something, not only to fix and ship it.
What were some of the biggest achievements for you personally over the past year?
Agnė Peluritytė
The biggest challenge and an achievement for me was joining NordPass as a quality assurance automation engineer. Previously, my work experience revolved around manual testing and only occasionally having the time and available resources to dive into test automation. Becoming a team member here at NordPass was a terrifying yet exciting breakthrough – early in my career path, I understood that I'd like to pursue the test automation path, but since I had not had that much solid experience with it prior, this felt like walking into the unknown with a very dim light to guide me.
Algirdas Jundulas
At NordPass I would say that it’s public speaking, especially LIVE ( I don't like to speak in front of a big audience).
Kornelijus Kairys
Make some key steps in personal growth and start investing more time into test automation.
What do you like about NordPass culture? And how do you personally contribute to the company’s values?
Agnė Peluritytė
In NordPass culture I admire the relationship between the team and the individual. I am autonomous in my work, but am also a part of a team that feels like a support system – a group of talented and skilled professionals who are moving forward and focused on the same goals, willing to lend a helping hand when it's needed.
Algirdas Jundulas
That quality is considered a value. Being 10+ years in the QA world, I help to ensure making trustworthy products to end users, to my colleagues and to me.
Murlee Dass
NordPass’ culture is what makes it one of the best places I have ever worked. I feel extremely happy to have joined a company where everyone is friendly and supportive. This makes work more enjoyable and a whole lot easier.
What would you tell a person who would like to take on your type of position at NordPass? What should they expect?
Agnė Peluritytė
NordPass is a big product that is focused on growing and adapting to change, which means that things are never dull around here. There are many platforms and a lot of functionality that will keep you excited and engaged at work. There are also many possibilities to not only better the product but to better yourself along the way as well. So join us, and let's 'break things' together!
Algirdas Jundulas
If you have the “break-something” mindset, a great eye for details, and think outside the box – most likely we are your new family.
Kornelijus Kairys
NordPass offers a fast-paced environment with the opportunity to gain knowledge and improve as a specialist in different spheres. We do extensive UI testing for browsers and different platforms (desktop, Android, iOS). Backend testing provides a different kind of challenge daily. There’s also automation and other non-functional testing, all of which lets you up your knowledge in different areas even more.
What or who inspires you the most work-wise?
Agnė Peluritytė
Probably the most important thing that inspires and encourages me is the team and generally teamwork. Because joining NordPass for me was somewhat of a fresh start. There were a lot of unknowns and problems I faced at the beginning. But no matter how overwhelming the situation could have gotten, I was always aware that there was a team besides me that could help me. I faced issues, made mistakes, tripped and fell along the way, but every time when I thought I couldn’t make it on my own, I knew that I wasn't, and it is amazing how willingly and quickly other QA engineers, developers, managers, or leads would help me or at least push me in the right direction. This kind of support is the backbone of a growing, strong, efficient, and functional team, which is my inspiration for the work I do, both short and long term.
Arnoldas Jegorovas
The tremendous support of the QA guild helps a ton. Everyone is ready to lend a hand with any issues you might face. This motivates me to keep going forward.
Murlee Dass
The short answer would be: the entire team. Everyone is so supportive and nice here at NordPass. Developers, QA specialists, and managers are always willing to offer a helping hand. Everyone spreads good vibes, which motivates me to work and makes the whole experience enjoyable.
What is the next step for you as a guild at NordPass? Where do you wish to improve?
Agnė Peluritytė
The next steps for our guild are the ones we take forward (haha). Jokes aside, I think one of the main ongoing objectives for us is looking for ways to optimize our work without losing quality – achieving the same results will take less effort. Sometimes it can seem like a hectic and fast-paced environment around here, and some tasks are repetitive and take greater amounts of time and effort than we wish they would. That is what we as QA automation engineers try to help with – creating automated tests that reduce the manual effort needed for repetitive tasks, leaving more resources to ensure great quality for the changes and new functionality coming our users' way.
Kornelijus Kairys
We are still quite a young guild with a lot of challenges to face. Internal QA processes are being polished every day so we can ensure that we work efficiently and bring the best quality.
Algirdas Jundulas
Our focus is to cover manual test cases as much as possible with test automation. Hope some day on one of our regression days we’ll be playing foosball instead of testing.
Murlee Dass
Our ultimate wish as a QA team is to improve the quality of the product as much as we can. We also look forward to automating testing procedures.
