It’s been another productive year here at NordPass. We’ve been hard at work introducing new features, establishing partnerships, welcoming 85 new team members, and taking our first big steps towards a passwordless future. Our user base grew to an astonishing 2.5 million. Oh, and we also turned three years old! But that’s just a small sample of what we did over the last year.

So, with 2022 almost over, we’re eager to share with you all of our major achievements. Without further ado, let’s jump in.
We’re ready to go passwordless
Passwordless authentication gained a lot of attention and traction this year. Major companies, such as Google, Apple, and Microsoft, are introducing passwordless authentication based on passkeys. This is a clear sign that the game is about to change.
At NordPass, we’re at the forefront of a passwordless future. This year, we partnered with the FIDO Alliance, which actively works on developing an open standard for passwordless authentication, and started developing solutions for storing and using passkeys. Stay tuned for more updates, as we’re set to launch the NordPass Passkey Holder in 2023.
NordPass Business underwent an SOC 2 Type 2 audit
To ensure the quality, safety, and efficiency of our processes, the NordPass Business Information Security Management System was independently audited and certified according to the SOC 2 Type 2 standard.
SOC 2 is a voluntary compliance standard for service organizations developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). The standard sets out security requirements and procedures on how service organizations should protect and manage customer data.
This year’s major releases
Breach Monitoring
One of the most exciting new releases this year was Breach Monitoring — a feature designed to actively monitor your emails for data breaches and notify users in real time in case of an emergency.
Password Sharer
For occasions when you desperately need to share a password but you don’t want to put your digital life at risk, we introduced Password Sharer — an end-to-end encrypted tool purpose-built to help you share sensitive information with anyone on the web.
NordPass for MSP
This year marked the arrival of NordPass for MSPs — a solution built to help MSP providers improve customer trust and drive new revenue by offering their clients an advanced password manager for businesses.
Single sign-on support
To help companies save time and improve their overall security stance, NordPass Enterprise was the first password manager to introduce support for single sign-on (SSO) with such SSO providers as Azure AD, MS ADFS and Google Workspace. Thanks to SSO capabilities, companies can now focus on workflow and productivity, which in turn yields new clients and revenue.
Shared Folders
NordPass Enterprise users were treated to one of the most anticipated features — Shared Folders. Designed to facilitate productivity and save time, Shared Folders allows NordPass Enterprises users to share multiple folders with other users in the organization in a secure and simple way.
This year’s major partnerships and awareness initiatives
Annual top 200 most common passwords list
Just like last year, and the year before, in 2022 we dug deep to reveal the top 200 most common passwords. We focused on the influence that pop culture has on our password choices. So, we partnered with an independent research team specializing in cyber incidents and evaluated a 3TB database of leaked passwords from 30 countries. Unfortunately, we learned that despite growing cybersecurity awareness, old habits die hard.
Top passwords used by business executives
In addition to the top 200 most common passwords list, we also looked into the password habits of high-ranking business officers. The research focused on the poor password habits of high-ranking business executives and company owners. The findings were categorized into four groups that represent different executive roles: CEOs, C-level executives, business owners, and management.
We partnered with a variety of companies and organizations
This year, we worked hard on developing lasting partnerships to raise cybersecurity awareness with companies and organizations such as Telia, Compensa, Cowbell Cyber, Startup Lithuania, A-Lign, Unicorn Lithuania, ISM, BMI, Vilnius University, Pax8, and Cloudblue. We are looking to establish even more lasting partnerships in the future, with the aim of creating a safer and more enjoyable life online.
We got great reviews
Our hard work and efforts didn't go unnoticed. This year, PCMag examined NordPass from every possible vantage point and gave us a 4-star review. Another major publication — TechRadar — awarded NordPass 4.5 stars. While we’re proud of our efforts, we look forward to getting 5 stars in the upcoming year.
We developed a lot of content
This year, we partnered with such popular content creators as Linus Tech Tips, Andrea Galeazzi, and The Mighty Jingles. Various collaborations generated over 300 million views in 23 different countries. Next year, we’re looking to establish new partnerships that would result in content that spreads security awareness on an even larger scale.
Security awareness webinars
This year we launched a series of cybersecurity webinars. Partnering with security experts from AWS, AmTrust Financial, Arch Insurance, Accenture, and Friendly's Restaurant, we covered such poignant topics as cyber insurance, the most common compliance challenges, and cyber warfare. We eagerly look forward to future webinars and joint efforts with industry experts to spread cybersecurity awareness.
Looking forward to 2023
It’s been a thrilling year here at NordPass, filled with challenges and opportunities, and we loved every bit of it. Now, as we leave 2022 behind, we’re eagerly looking forward to what’s ahead. Get ready, because 2023 is going to be another wild ride – from ushering in the passwordless future to making your favorite password manager even better than it already is. Stay tuned and have a wonderful 2023.
